Have you ever noticed as we get older

time just seems to fly by?

Let me tell you I have wondered where time went then realized I have so much to do. It's easy to put things off until tomorrow, but when tomorrow arrives five years you realize how much time has been wasted, then realize what you could have accomplished.  So, no more excuses for me or my family, we are going to enjoy, experience and create as much everyday as we can. I am starting a video diary of all the things we experience and learn along the way.  I hope you will join me and my experiences here www.IdentityLifeCoaching.com  and maybe join in with your own video diary right from the comfort of your own phone.  The saying that speaks to me daily is

WE ARE NOT PROMISED TOMORROW SO MAKE THE MOST OF EVERYDAY.

I think it would be a great way for my family, friends but most of all my children to remember me, and our time together if anything were to happen.  To remember all the fun we have had.  I have always been a planner. We are now planning a trip to Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC and small stops along the way.  Camera battery all charged up along with the cell phone, ipod, tablet, laptop and myXM radio ready to go. There are so many ways of sharing your experiences in life, thanks to my new friend Bo on facebook I have decided to do this for sure. Bo, and his family went on vacation and he shared every step of the way from mileage to things that happened.  It was fun to sign on and see where they were and how much fun they were having.  Staying connected is so easy with facebook, twitter,
linkedin, and more.

In short share your story, your real life story with others so people see the real you. So many people put on about their life either for business or they are afraid to be judged and to me it's just awesome to real people living their real life out loud, just saying.

Until next time,

Today we all need to take the time and look at our families. Really look at the love we share and the protection we provide for them. The trust and value we put into one another. Now, sit back and think of a child that is being beaten, starved, not educated, wearing clothes that have not been cleaned, and teeth starting to rot due to non-care. Children who are failing school due to lack of help with homework. Now, those children have been taken out of the home and placed into foster care. They have insurance, new clothing, a bath everyday sometimes two, teeth brushed and a dentist to see. They have hair appointments and are playing sports or learning how to play the piano. At no fault of the child is the child placed in foster care. Now, the child is growing up great, healthy and happy, but they are getting ready to turn 18-21. Now what? Where do they go now? This is a frightening time for these children; they are on their own for the first time. They have to find an apartment, pay deposits, turn on utilities, find or keep a job, college if they want or trade school, furnish the apartment, buy food, clothing, a car, supplies and the list goes on. Maybe they will be lucky and the job will provide insurance. How do they do all this? Us as parents always help out our children, but unless the foster family pitches in there are little resources for them. So what do they do? Let me introduce a program founded by Bonnie Bright Bradshaw known as Advancing Youth of America.

Advancing Youth of America helps provide assistance a year in advance to help them get ready for this transition, and then we are there for as long as they need us. We help with all the needs they are unable to provide for themselves. This is where fundraisers and donations from people like you and I come in. We are looking for used cars, food, clothing, as well as many other things. Our goal is to help these young men and women to see they can do it and stand on their feet with a little help. We don't want them living on the streets and doing what they can for food and their basic needs. They don't want to be in the system forever.

Children right here in our own Country need our help. Reaching out to help a child is one of the best blessings anyone can do. If you are a religious organization and looking for a cause to support I urge you to consider this foundation and learn more of what is happening to our Young Adults. Maybe you want to get involved in something to help out in our community. We need you as well. Are you good at Resume writing, Tutoring, Money Management, or even just being there to listen and help, then call Bonnie Bright Bradshaw and let's get you plugged in to help these young people thrive in lives they deserve.

I thank you for the time you have taken to just read this blog and pray that you can help us with our goals. “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” ~Mother Teresa

Start Your Own Business Now!

by Bonnie Bright Bradshaw on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:09pm
I think when someone wants to go into business for themselves it is very frightening to a point. Exciting, but frightening. We have to have faith that what we want to do is something we feel we are good at and would enjoy doing day in and day out. Is it something as a Christian we feel we are called to do or is of benefit to others? Do we have a skill that would help someone else have a better life in some small way? Would owning a non-profit be rewarding to us and if so what could be our platform? Who is it we are passionate about helping? Homeless, Children, Vets, Animals, Human Rights, or Educating others of areas that will benefit them.
Life isn't given to us to just take in and give nothing back. Our rewards really are the crowns we will give back to Christ when that day comes we are face to face with him. What did we do here on earth for HIM that was of great value? Could you imagine standing before your Christ only having one crown to give back when someone else standing beside you offers him a 100? I can't picture the shame I would feel. My heart is soft and all I ever want to do is help others. Elderly, Children, and yes Animals. I can't do it all and I am no saint. I sin everyday just like everyone else but I try everyday to make a difference somehow.
Don't be afraid to step out on faith to make a difference or just a change in your life. We learn by failing so it's not the end of the world when you fail at something it's the beginning of learning how to do it better.
I started speaking years ago and found that rather it be as a Sunday School Teacher, A visiting guest, A ministry clown, helping someone who showed up at my home in trouble, I loved doing it. I did not realize until a few years ago I could make a living doing what I do best.... Talk.
I have done many different things which all were building blocks to who I am now. So, don't worry about success or failure just do it and let God be your guide.
2 Timothy 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

Homeless Youth

When people drive down the street and look on street corners it has become more common to see a homeless man or woman standing there with a sign.  What you don’t see is the under aged kids that are homeless as well.  According to covenanthouse.org about 40% of homeless people are under the age of 18.  Can you imagine your child or a child you know having to fend for themselves on the side of the street hoping someone will help them.  I recently read an article in the local paper about a group of homeless youth living on the streets in Virginia Beach, VA.  I have been a foster parent for over 17 years now and my mindset was that they were in shelters with families or foster care.  But in all reality they are out in the world waiting for that helping hand to help clothe, feed, and provide shelter.  I found that there are organizations that help the youth up until the age of 21.  I don’t yet understand the do’s and don’ts of helping the under aged youth since there are so many laws but am working my way through them to better understand how I can help these troubled youth get back into a normal reality.

Now you may be asking yourselves how these kids end up on the streets fending for themselves.  Covenant.com shows that 41% witnessed violence in their own home, 36% witnessed their parents using drugs regularly, 19% reported being beaten with an object, 19% reported they have endured sexual abuse, and 15% reported someone close to them had been murdered.  There is a local boy that lives near me that endures violence in his own home and runs as soon as it happens to get away from it.  But with the laws of today he is not able to get very far from his parents.  Local law enforcers have said that parents have more power of the child than people think.  If they are picked up then they have to go back into the parents’ custody.  If they go to a safe house and are reported as a run away then that organization has to call the parents to let them know of their whereabouts.  Then if they show up to pick up that child then the organization has to make the child leave.  No wonder there are so many homeless youth on the street, they would rather take their chances on the street than at home.

Your next question is how can we help?  How can I help one of these kids if the laws have our hands tied so much it doesn’t matter if I put out that helping hand?  In 2011 I am planning a Formal Galla at the Hilton Garden Inn to raise money to purchase a home for these children through my non-profit organization (Advancing Youth of America). We will hire staff around the clock as well as involve volunteers to help educate these youth to receive their GED’s, as well as Resume Writing, Independent living skills, how to search for jobs, money management, as well as many other things they need in order to make it in today’s economy.  Some people really do not have the time to devote to physically working with this cause, but they can be involved in many other areas such as:  fundraisers,  a wonderful way of doing this is adopting the non-profit as your cause and host yard sales, pig pickins, spa days, pancake breakfast, as well as Churches can get involved by Sunday school classes competing to collect food, clothing and donations also adding us to everyone's website for acknowledgment.   Schools could hold events with all money's or items be donated. Bands holding a concert once a year,  There is also a real need for  Pediatricians to volunteer their time once a week by coming in to check on the children.  There is not one person in this world that can't get involved in one way or another.  Are you someone who loves to network? Then there is a need for you as well.  Let people know about this get the word out.  It is in your hands.  If everyone could just see the need in pitching in and give 1.00 just think how that could help these kids.  Let's get together and perform a miracle for these kids.  Won't you find it in your heart to do something?

Advancing Youth Of America was developed two years ago in the hope of helping our at risk youth have opportunity to advance in life the way every child deserves.  We have our EIN with the IRS, but in the process of raising funds for the non-profit portion of the organization.  As you know not much comes in the way of FREE, so we will do all we can to raise that money.  The faster we are registered the better things will go for the children we are trying to serve.

Thank you for taking the time to read Bonnie's blog.  I hope in some way this touched your heart and it will be your desire to adopt this cause to help our homeless youth.  Please add my website (still have a few things to do) and my Facebook bonnie bright bradshaw to your website to give others a chance of knowledge and maybe help out these children.
